Well all the Clover guides I found said to use Clover Configurator and verify the random serial number on the Apple Support Site which implies that Apple can blacklist a code and also stop you from running updates. Download Config.zip, extract then select right ist and copy to /EFI/Clover/ to get a unique Serial Number, import the ist and go to Bios.
